Buying your first home in Fairfield
Buying your first home, with each step explained in plain language.
A first home with room to choose
For a first-time buyer, Fairfield's range can be a help. There are single-story ranch homes, two-story suburban homes and newer construction, from established neighborhoods built mostly in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s to newer communities like One Lake. The challenge is narrowing that range to the homes that fit you.
That's where we begin: what you want, what you can comfortably afford, and what you need to understand before you start touring.
What we do first
We have a consultation, and then you meet a trusted lender for a preapproval, so you know your purchasing power, your monthly payment and your closing costs. I explain each step as it comes. A first-time buyer once wrote that I made the process "feel so much less overwhelming" by being available to answer questions and explain each step. That's my aim for you too. See first-time buyers for more and the Home Buyer's Guide for the documents a lender asks for.
